Tonight's (Fri., Jan. 14) matchup between the Madison High School Jaguars and the Delhi Charter School Gators has been canceled due to COVID-19 protocol, MHS Head Coach John Holmes said Friday.
The Jaguars defeated the Mangham Dragons in a 72-32 blowout Tuesday on the road. MHS entered the game ranked first in Class 2A, District 2.
Jeremiah Marshall led the Jags in scoring Tuesday, notching 27 points. Tayshaun Dykes finished the game second in scoring with 11 points; Javian Williams notched 10 points; Nehemiah Jackson and Corey Moore each scored 8; Ahmad Moore finished the game with 4 points; and, Kelyn Brooks and M Thomas each scored 2 points, according to Maxpreps.com.
The Jaguars (17-1) are next scheduled to take on the General Trass Tuesday in Lake Providence.
The DCS Gators (7-9) boys and girls teams each notched wins over Epps Tuesday. The Lady Gatos defeated the Lady Panthers 34-30, as Destiny Bayonee led the way offensively with 13 total points. The varsity boys team defeated the Panthers 61-37.
DCS is next scheduled to take on Mangham on the road Tuesday. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. for the girls and 7 p.m. for the boys.
