The Madison High School Jaguars' season hasn't gotten any easier since its week 3 loss of quarterback Jaquarrius "Deuce" Bolden to a season-ending knee injury.
Despite talent on both sides of the ball, the Jags have dropped four straight games, most recently in a 43-0 road loss to the Mangham Dragons Friday night.
But head coach Levi Washington Jr. has pressed on during the touch mid-season stretch, continuing to push forward as he molds his first team since returning to the MHS sidelines this year.
And the Jags will have another chance to right the ship Friday night in its second of four straight road games to finish the 2023 season. This week, MHS will face a 5-2 Oak Grove Tigers team that is coming off a 42-12 win over Ferriday.
The Jags will need plenty of big runs from backs Jaydon Larry, Messiah Allen and company in order to keep pace, but MHS has the depth at running back to give the Tigers defense fits. A win would give MHS its first win in 2A, District 2 play, where the Tigers are currently on top of the pack 3-0.
Kickoff for Friday's match up is scheduled for 7 p.m in Oak Grove.
