The City of Tallulah is among the ten safest cities in Louisiana, according to a study released by SafeWise, a group that conducts research on safety measures nationwide.
According to the study, Tallulah ranked fifth in the state, behind No. 4 Mandeville, No. 3 Youngsville, No. 2 Harahan and No. 1 Addis.
According to information released by SafeWise, the study analyzed the latest violent crime and property crime data from the FBI for each city in order to determine the order for its seventh annual list.
According to the study, which utilized FBI crime data for 2020, Louisiana’s violent crime rate has dropped slightly since last year, but still tops the region and U.S. violent crime rates by several points.
Tallulah, according to the study, dropped two spots from last year.
“Although Tallulah ranks higher on our list, its violent and property crime rates rose more in the last 12 months,” the study found.
According to the data, property crime in Louisiana accounts for 2.1 percent of the nation’s property-crime incidents. The state also has the fifth-highest violent crime rate in the U.S., and nearly six-out-of-ten residents worry about it daily, according to SafeWise’s “State of Safety” survey.
