Early voting for November's election will begin Saturday for Madison Parish.
This year’s elections were postponed by Gov. John Bel Edwards, in large part because of continued recovery efforts stemming from Hurricane Ida slamming into the state in August, and subsequently moved from October to Sat., Nov. 13, while the previously scheduled November election has been moved to December.
Voters in Madison Parish may begin casting ballots during the early voting period for the Nov. 13, election beginning Sat., Oct. 30, at the Madison Parish Courthouse in the Registrar of Voters Office, located at 100 N. Cedar Street in Tallulah, from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Early voting will continue daily (excluding Sun., Oct. 31) until Sat., Nov. 6. The deadline to request absentee ballots is Tues., Nov. 9. Voters my request an absentee ballot online at https://voterportal.sos.la.gov/ or by writing through the Madison Parish Registrar of Voters Office. The Registrar of Voters deadline for receiving an absentee ballot is Fri., Nov. 12, at 4:30 p.m.
Madison Parish is one of 24 parishes with both Constitutional Amendments and local propositions appearing on the Nov. 13 ballot.
