A fire that broke out in the kitchen of a home on Arkansas Street in Tallulah last week could have been much worse, according to Tallulah Fire Chief Harold Allen.
Allen posted a thank you on social media following the incident expressing his appreciation to officers with the Tallulah Police Department and deputies with Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office for assisting the Tallulah Fire Department in its efforts to contain the blaze, which was reported in a home in the 900 block of Arkansas Street at approximately 8 a.m. Wed., Jan. 12.
“Tallulah Fire Department was dispatched to 900 block of Arkansas street in reference to a structure fire, upon arrival, moderate smoke was coming from the residence,” Allen said in the post. “Firefighter deployed a 1 1/2inch attack line and quickly knocked down the fire. We would like to thank deputies from the Madison Parish Sheriffs Office, and Tallulah police officer for the efforts in controlling the fire until our arrival. The fire was contained to the kitchen thanks to their efforts.”
