A uniform drive for students in Madison Parish in need of clothing for the 2022-23 school year is underway.
Drive organizer Breona Fountain said new and “gently” used school uniforms are being sought in an effort to ease the burden on families when school gets underway once again in August.
“As people who have lived in this community all their lives, we have seen the challenges most parents and children have,” Fountain said. “We want to help lighten the load in whatever way we are able. What better way to assist currently than supplying school uniforms for those needing them for the upcoming school year? We have started a uniform drive for parents and students who live in Madison Parish. The purpose of this drive is to supply school uniforms for any household needing aid. We can’t do it alone. To provide, we are asking for new and gently used uniforms that can be distributed to those who apply and/or monetary donations who just want to sow into this initiative. No amount is too small. You may give at www.breonafountain.com.”
Fountain said needed items include white, royal blue, gold and navy tops; khaki and navy bottoms; and reversible, brown, black or navy belts.
“We need parents to complete applications on the home page at www.breonafountain.com to receive uniforms,” Fountain said. “We can be contacted at 318.434.0585 by call or text if there be any questions or if uniforms need to be picked up or dropped off. Email is info@breonafountain.com. We believe and hope that we will be able to supply to each household who applies, so each donation means a lot.”
