On a beautiful and sunny Saturday, several residents gathered at the Richmond Community Center. It was for the wedding ceremony of two very great people whom I’ve known for quite some time. And that couple is Ethelena and Henry Haynes IV. The Rev. Eddie Fountain Sr. performed the ceremony. And we had on the same attire from head to toe (good taste, Pastor Fountain!). Mr. Haynes made his unique entrance (being made spiffy from head to toe by his awesome entourage!). Other loved ones of Mr. and Mrs. Haynes followed.
Loved ones of the lovely bride made classy entrances as well. The wedding party for the Haynes wedding were very beautiful and handsome in thier wedding attires. The little people in the wedding party carried photos of those loved one who’ve gone to be with the Lord (Bertha Jacobs and Henry Haynes III). Mrs. Hynes made her entrance in the gathering, with her lovely sister Suzanna by her side. She gave her away. Pastor Tommy Watson Sr. rendered a powerful rendition of the classic tune “When I Found You.”
Pastor Fountain took a few moments to reflect on the days next door to my family home at the New Morning Star Baptist Church, to his home on Chester Drive with Sister Fountain on Mr. Haynes (eating their delicious food!). Pastor Watson gave a great blessing prayer. Before they kissed one another, Ethelena and Henry have each other a very fast hand slap! And I must say that this hand slap was pretty neat (they NEED to teach it to me one day!). The introduction of the wedding party for the reception was neat (dancing to the latest and greatest hip hop tunes of today).
And the dinner served at the reception was enjoyed tremendously. Ethelena put on a very enchanting dance for her husband at the end (with her bridesmaids in the mix!). It was a wedding for the ages (just as the other good Baron and Oshawa Stevenson’s wedding was a few years ago!). And, coincidentally, their wedding was held at the Richmond Community Center as well!.
Congratulation to Ethelena and Henry on their new life together as one. And best wishes to you both in the future!
God bless!
