Tuesday, July 19. 2022 5:30 P.M.
Call to Order by Mayor Olga Butler. Pledge of Allegiance.
Mayor Butler Established having a quorum, Mayor Butler led the group in prayer.
Roll Call: Mayor Olga Foster Butler X, Councilman: Lamar Walters X, Margaret Leoty X, Walter Cobb Absent, Village Clerk Gen Ellis X.
Motion to read the minutes from the previous meeting June 27, 2022, was made by Councilman Lamar Walters, seconded by Councilman Margaret Leoty. Motion carried.
Motion to approve the Financial Statements as paid for the month of June 2022, was made by Councilman Lamar Walters, seconded by Councilman Margaret Leoty. Motion carried.
New Business: none
Old Business:
1 The Engineer for the Madison Parish Police Jury -Water System -Improvement CWEF project, reported that the bids are in. The Mayors from the City of Tallulah and the Village of Richmond agreed to take the lowest bid. Progress will continue on the Madison Parish Police Jury - Water System Improvements for City of Tallulah/Village of Richmond CWEF Grant.
Councilman’s Reports:
Lamar Walters: Councilman Walters reported we need to discuss our law enforcement for the Village of Richmond.
Margaret Leoty: Councilman Leoty reported she received a complaint regarding the high grass along the drainage ditch on Marianna due to concerns about drainage & rodents. Mr. Preston Walker & Mr. Epps from the MPJ were contacted to look at the ditch. A work order will be placed to spray the high grass.
Continued Discussion on the concerns regarding speeding in the Village of Richmond. Plans are underway to address the problem.
Walter Cobb: We wish Walter a speedy recovery.
There being no further business, meeting was adjourned. The NEXT regularly scheduled meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Village of Richmond will be held on Tuesday, August 16. 2022 at 5:30 P.M.
