Adopt Millages Rates for 2023, Resolution #1
RESOLUTION #1
BE IT RESOLVED: That the following millages are hereby levied on the 2023 tax roll on all property subject to taxation by the Village of Richmond, LA.
MILLAGE
General Alimony ________________________________5.27 Mills
General obligations Street Improvements____________14.60 Mills
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the proper administration officials of the Village of Richmond, Parish of Madison, State of Louisiana be and they are hereby empowered, authorized and directed to spread said taxes, as herein above set forth, upon the assessment roll of said Village for the year 2023, and to make collections of the taxes imposed for and on behalf of the taxing authority, according to law, and that the taxes herein levied shall become a permanent lien and privilege on all property subject to all taxation as herein set forth, and collection thereof shall be enforceable in the manner provided by law.
The foregoing resolution was read in full; the roll was called on the adoption thereof, and the resolution was adopted by the following votes:

Motion to approve the minutes from the previous meeting February 21, 2023, was made by Councilman Curt Collins, seconded by Councilwoman Margaret Leoty. Motion carried.
Motion to approve the Financial Statements as paid for the month of February 2023, was made by Councilman Curt Collins, seconded by Councilman Walter Cobb. Motion Carried.
NEW BUSINESS: None
OLD BUSINESS:
Motion was made by Councilman Curt Collins, seconded by Councilman Margaret Leoty to purchase new tables and chairs for the Civic Center. Vote: yeas 3 nays 0 absent 0.
COUNCILMAN REPORTS:
Walter Cobb: Councilman Cobb discussed the possibility of purchasing 2 – way radios.
Margaret Leoty: Councilwoman Leoty reported there are concerns about the dead tree next to the drainage ditch on Burnside and requested it be removed to prevent it from falling on the power lines which would cause an outage.
She reported the flower beds at the entrance sign on Felicia Dr. have been weeded & new pine straw added.
The Councilwoman and Mayor discussed cleaning up the area at the VR burn pile due to dumping at the site.
Curt Collins: Councilman Collins discussed further details for the installation of the 2 - Way Radios, the Mayor and Board will look into further action on the Radios. Councilman Collins has completed the information on the cameras to be purchased.
Motion was made by Councilman Walter Cobb to purchase the cameras decided upon by the Mayor and Board from Montavue, seconded by Councilwoman Margaret Leoty. Vote: yeas 3 nays 0 absent 0.
There being no further business, meeting was adjourned.
