BOARD MEETING
January 17, 2023
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF DELTA HELD its Regular meeting at Delta City Hall on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Present were Mayor Marvin Ashley, Council Members, Pam Stokes, Stephanie Edleston and Clerk Susan Peterson.
Council Member Stokes, made a motion seconded by Council Member Edleston, to dispense with the minutes from the last meeting. Yeas 2 Nays 0 Motion carried.
The Council Members reviewed the Expense Reports and Budget for the Month of December 2022.
Council Member Stokes, made a motion seconded by Council Member Edleston, to approve the bills paid in December 2022. Yeas 2 Nays 0 Motion carried.
Council Member Stokes, made a motion seconded by Council Member Edleston, to approve the purchase of a PC, Laptop, & Flashlights for the VOD Fire Department. Yeas 2 Nays 0 Motion carried.
Mayor Ashley discussed the required Sexual Harassment & Ethics Training.
Council Member Stokes, made a motion seconded by Council Member Edleston, to approve paying Officer Obadiah Moore $30 cellphone allowance due to usage of personal cellphone for business. Yeas 2 Nays 0 Motion carried.
Council Member Stokes, made a motion seconded by Council Member Edleston, to approve Officer David Beckham to attend the LACP Conference being held March 7-9, 2023 in Lake Charles, La. Yeas 2 Nays 0 Motion carried.
Council Member Stokes, made a motion seconded by Council Member Edleston, to approve Clerk Susan Peterson & Assistant Clerk Marion Chouccoli to attend the Clerk’s Association Conference being held April 13-14, 2023 in New Orleans, La. Yeas 2 Nays 0 Motion carried.

Mayor Ashley discussed having a VOD Staff Meeting on February 8, 2023.
New Business:
Mayor Ashley gave an update to the Board Members on Vernon Beckham’s vehicle situation.
