PUBLIC NOTICE
NOTICE is hereby given that 1803 Electric Cooperative, Inc., Beauregard Electric Cooperative, Inc., Claiborne Electric Cooperative, Inc., Northeast Louisiana Power Cooperative, Inc., South Louisiana Electric Cooperative Association, and Washington-St. Tammany Electric Cooperative, Inc., have applied to the Louisiana Public Service Commission (the “LPSC”) for approval of the 1803 wholesale formula rate and the 1803 Member Wholesale Power Contracts in a matter entitled “1803 Electric Cooperative, Inc.; Beauregard Electric Cooperative, Inc.; Claiborne Electric Cooperative, Inc.; Northeast Electric Cooperative, Inc.; South Louisiana Electric Cooperative Assoc.; and Washington- St. Tammany Electric Cooperative, Inc. In re: Application for Approval of the 1803 Electric Cooperative, Inc. Wholesale Formula Rate Plan and Member Wholesale Power Contracts” docketed as DOCKET NO. U-36268, which would increase the wholesale cost of electricity initially by $0.80 per megawatt hour in 2022, $1.40 in 2023, and $1.46 in 2024. For an end-use member customer using 1,200 kilowatt hours a month, the cost is estimated to be $0.96 per month in 2022 up to $1.75 per month in 2024. Beginning in 2025, it is forecasted that the wholesale cost of electricity provided to the five retail cooperatives listed above will decline from current levels (excluding fuel).
1803 Electric Cooperative is a newly formed wholesale power supply cooperative that will begin providing the electric power and energy needs of the five electric cooperatives named above which provide retail electric service to member customers in portions of Louisiana.
