Madison Voluntary Council on Aging plan to hold first annual meeting since pandemic.
The annual general membership meeting of the Madison Voluntary Council on Aging is scheduled to be held at 5 p.m. Thurs., Aug. 18, 2022, at the Senior Center, 203 South Elm Street, Tallulah.
All who are interested in the programs and services offered to the seniors of Madison Parish are invited to attend. This meeting is to report on activities and functions of the council and share the plans for the future. IT is a time to offer any suggestions for the improvement of your council. Board members will also be elected from the membership. For any other information, please contact the Madison Voluntary Council on aging at 318-574-3666.
The Council on Aging provides for the needs of our seniors in this parish. Currently, they are delivering 250 meals each day to qualifying seniors, provide homemaker service and transportation. The Senior Center provides a place for seniors to interact with other seniors and enjoy a hot meal each day. Seniors also enjoy educational activities and trips.
It is the goal of the Council on Aging to allow the seniors of Madison Parish to age gracefully in the manner in which they choose.
If you are not a member, please join and help us make our Council on Aging the very best in the state. Requirements for membership are that you are 18 years of age and live in Madison Parish. There are no dues or fees.
To be able to vote in the August 18, meeting, you need to have this membership application in by August 1, 2022.
