President Sharon Jackson called the regular board meeting of the Madison Parish School Board to order on Monday, July 18, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. at the Madison Parish Training Center (Board Meeting Room), 600 Bayou Drive, Tallulah, Louisiana by asking for a moment of silent prayer. The audience recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

On motion of Mr. Sims and seconded by Mrs. Hargrave, the board voted to adopt the agenda. Motion carried.
On motion of Ms. Johnson and seconded by Mr. Wilson, to present item(b) to approve the bills for payment. On motion of Reverend Hamilton and seconded by Mrs. Hargrave the board approved the bills for payment. Motion carried.
On motion of Reverend Hamilton and seconded by Mrs. Hargrave, the board presented item (c) to approve the minutes. On motion of Mrs. Hargrave and seconded by Mr. Sims the board voted to approve the minutes of the Special Board Meeting of June 9,2022 Regular Board Meeting of June 20,2022 and Finance/ Insurance meeting of June 24, 2022. Motion carried.
On motion of Mr. Sims and seconded by Reverend Hamilton, to present item (d) Presentation from Kay Searcey with Bailey Instructional Consultants. Motion carried.
On motion of Reverend Hamilton and seconded by Mrs. Hargrave, to present item (e) Consider allowing Amerihealth Caritas Louisiana to host a community health event at WES on Saturday, August 20, 2022. On motion of Reverend Hamilton and seconded by Mr. Dixon the board voted to allow Amerihealth Caritas Louisiana to host a community health event at WES on Saturday, August 20, 2022. Motion carried.
On motion of Mrs. Hargrave and seconded by Mr. Dixon, to present item (f) Presentation from Food and Nutrition Manager Wanda Adams regarding meal plan 2022-2023. Motion carried.
On motion of Reverend Hamilton and seconded by Mr. Dixon, to present item (g) approval of observing November 8, 2022, as a Federal Election Holiday. On motion of Reverend Hamilton and seconded by Mrs. Hargrave the board approved observing November 8, 2022, as a Federal Election Holiday. Motion carried.
On motion of Mr. Dixon and seconded by Mr. Wilson, to present item (h) approval of the Student Accident Insurance Proposal. On motion of Mrs. Hargrave and seconded by Reverend Hamilton the board voted to approve the Student Accident Insurance Proposal. Motion carried.
On motion of Reverend Hamilton and seconded by Mr. Wilson, to present item (i) approval of the Surplus sale bids. On motion Mrs. Hargrave and seconded by Mr. Wilson the board approved the Surplus sale bids. Motion carried.
On motion of Mr. Sims and seconded by Mrs. Hargrave, to present item (j) approval of the Pitney Bowes contract postage machine (reduction in cost). On motion of Mr. Sims and seconded by Mr. Wilson the board voted to approve the Pitney Bowes contract postage machine (reduction in cost). Motion carried.
On motion of Mr. Sims and seconded by Mrs. Hargrave to present item (k) permission for Delta Head Start to use a building for storage. On motion of Mr. Sims and seconded by Mr. Dixon the board voted to give permission to Delta Head Start to use a building for storage. Motion carried.
On motion of Mrs. Hargrave and seconded by Mr. Sims, to present item (l) Discussion of up-to-date bank reconciliations. Business Manager Elvin Parker spoke about up-to-date bank reconciliations.
On motion of Mr. Sims and seconded by Mr. Wilson, to present item (m) approval of engineer Jerald Montgomery preliminary report. On motion of Reverend Hamilton and seconded by Mr. Sims the board voted to approve engineer Jerald Montgomery preliminary report. Motion carried.
On motion of Reverend Hamilton and seconded by Mrs. Hargrave, to present item (n) consider approving the student handbook for 2022-2023. On motion of Reverend Hamilton and seconded by Mr. Dixon the board approve to Consider approving the student handbook for 2022-2023. Motion carried.
On motion of Reverend Hamilton and seconded by Mr. Wilson, to present item(o) consider approving changes to the Pupil Progression Plan for 2022-2023.
