President Oscar Hamilton called the regular board meeting of the Madison Parish School Board to order on Monday, July 17, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. at the Madison Parish Training Center (Board Meeting Room), 600 Bayou Drive, Tallulah, Louisiana by asking for a moment of silent prayer. The audience recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

On the motion of Rev.Fountain and seconded by Mrs. Hargrave, the board voted to adopt the agenda with an added item to recognize the AAU Basketball for winning National Championship in Arkansas. Motion carried.
On motion the of Reverend Fountain and seconded by Mr. Wilson, the board approved the bills for payment. Motion carried.

On the motion of Mrs.Gultery and seconded by Rev. Fountain, the board voted to approve the minutes of the Public Hearing/Regular Board Meeting of June 14, 2023. Motion carried.

On the motion of Mrs. Crawford and seconded by Rev. Fountain the board approved item (e) consider approving bidding for district-wide HVAC Service and mechanical contract. Motion carried.
On motion of Reverend Fountain and seconded by Mrs. Gultery the board approved item (f) Declaration of Emergency Storm Damage. Motion carried.
On motion of Ms. Hamilton and seconded by Rev.Fountain the board approved item (g) Consider approving extended substitute teachers, who hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, and perform all duties of an MPSD teacher on a long-term basis to be paid on the MPSD teacher salary scale at the “0” experience level. Motion carried.
The board discussed for Tallulah and Wright Elementary School to have extended day.
On motion of Mrs.Gultery and seconded by Rev.Fountain the board approved item (i) approval of Insurance renewal. Motion carried.
On motion of Rev.Fountain and seconded by Mrs. Crawford the board approved item (j) consider advertising for a salvage sale. Motion carried.
On motion of Rev.Fountain and seconded by Ms. Hamilton the board approved item (k)approval of Regular Board Meeting calendar for 2023-2024. Motion carried.
On motion of Mrs. Crawford and seconded by Mrs.Gultery the board approved item (l)consider reversing the approval to pay foreign teachers H1B renewal with salary reimbursement. Motion carried.
