Delta Community Action Association, Inc. has funds available for the 2022 Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). This program assists low-income families and senior citizens in the community.

Must be a Madison Parish resident to apply.

YOU MUST HAVE ALL DOCUMENTS AT APPOINTMENT TIME OR WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLETE YOUR APPLICATION.
Below is the information you will need to bring on the date we take your application.
1. Current Louisiana Photo I.D. for everyone 18 years and older in the household.
2. Social Security Cards for everyone in the household. (THE ORIGINAL SOCIAL SECURITY CARDS)
3. Utility Bill-must be an active account (cannot be an old account). Please bring your water bill, energy bill and gas/propane bill.
4. Proof of Income for every member of household that receives income. (2022 Social Security/SSI Award Letter or a Bank Statement from within the last 30 days, Unemployment Letter, Worker’s Comp Letter, or the 4 most current consecutive pay check stubs, and/or current Retirement income that shows gross amount, etc.). If the pay varies due to unusual circumstances, bring additional pay stubs.
Households reporting ZERO INCOME must provide additional documentation. Zero Income must provide a NOTARIZED STATEMENT that no one contributes to your household bills and that you do not work or receive any other monetary assistance from anyone. It must also be signed and dated.
5. Two (2) forms of proof of residency (other than light/gas/water bill) that have the person’s name applying for help with the service address that is on the bill that you are getting help with. (Current photo I.D., voter registration card, lease agreement, or a bill such as cable, insurance, or phone (no older than 30 days).
6. If you receive HUD or Section 8 assistance, you must bring your current lease agreement with the Utility Allowance page.
7. If you send someone to do your application for you, you must send all the above information and a letter, signed by you, giving that person permission to do the application. The person doing the application for you must also bring their photo I.D.
If it is determined that additional documentation is required, the applicant will be notified at the time of the application.
All information provided is subject to verification. Intentional misrepresentation of information may result in criminal prosecution of the applicant and anyone assisting in the misrepresentation.
