NOTICE OF COMPLIANCE
The City of Tallulah does hereby notify participants, beneficiaries, applicants and employees, including those with impaired vision or hearing, and unions or professional organizations holding collective bargaining or professional agreements with the grantee that does not discriminate on the basis of disability in violation of this part of the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s regulations implementing Section 504 (24 CFR Part 8. dated June 2, 1988), implementing regulation.
Section 504 provides that “no otherwise qualified individual with a handicap in the United States shall, solely by reasons of his handicap be excluded from the participation in, denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance”.
Regulations implementing Section 504 require that recipients of Federal financial assistance conduct a self-evaluation by thoroughly reviewing its program, including current policies and practices with respect to communications, employment and program/physical accessibility to determine whether it does or does not meet the requirements of being accessible to individuals with handicaps.
Organizations, groups, agencies and individuals interested in expressing their ideas, opinions, etc., regarding the above statements, or who desire to participate in the self-evaluation and/or resulting transition plan may address their comments to:
