PUBLIC NOTICE
LCDBG Application Available for Review
The City of Tallulah announces that an application for the FY 2022 Louisiana Community Development Block Grant (LCDBG) funds will be submitted by June 1, 2022. A public hearing was held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, to gather input from citizens on the proposed application. The application will include the following:
Activity: LCDBG funds will be used to:
a. Renovation/Rehabilitation of Tallulah City Park, 500 W Washington Street, Tallulah, Louisiana, 71282
b. Upgrades to Tallulah Fairgrounds Park, 1206 N Cedar Street, Tallulah, LA 71282
Objective:
To provide adequate service for low-moderate income residents of the City of Tallulah
Location:
The target area consists of the corporate limits of the City of Tallulah, Louisiana (Madison Parish)
Amount:
a. Renovate/Rehabilitation of Tallulah City Park: Resurface walk track, repairs to outdoor lighting around walk track, purchase new playground equipment (ADA and inclusive), repair existing playground equipment, purchase of outdoor individual fitness equipment (ADA and inclusive), purchase multiple outdoor hand sanitizing stations, purchase new tables and benches, resurfacing of tennis court, repairs to interior of restroom facility, purchase of new shade structure, repairs to existing shade structure, installation of badminton court area and purchase of evergreen trees to encourage bird watching activities. TOTAL COST $240,000
b. Upgrades to the Tallulah Fairgrounds Park: Purchase new outdoor fitness equipment (ADA and inclusive), purchase new playground equipment (ADA and inclusive), purchase multiple outdoor hand sanitizing stations, purchase new shade structure, purchase new outdoor tables and benches, purchase fencing for playground equipment area, repair to concrete pads (both 50' x 120') for individual (hopscotch) or social distancing games (four square, etc). TOTAL COST $160,000
All citizens, particularly persons of low and moderate income and residents of blighted areas, are encouraged to submit their views and proposals by May 24, 2022 to Mayor Charles Finlayson at the following address:

The application is to be submitted to the Division of Administration, Office of Community Development on or about June 1, 2022 . A copy of the application will be available for review at Tallulah City Hall, 204 N Cedar Street, Tallulah, LA 71282
between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm from May 24, 2022 to May 31, 2022.
