Louisiana Delta Community College (LDCC) is proud to announce the return of its Process Technology Program at LDCC Monroe, set to begin in Fall 2025. This vital program is making a comeback in response to the growing demand for skilled process technologists, spurred by the development of Strategic Biofuels’ new fuel plant and continued partnerships with industry leaders such as Eastman Chemical Company, Graphic Packaging International, Drax Biomass, Ada Carbon Solutions, Entergy, and Weyerhaeuser.
Process Technology (PTEC) professionals are essential to the operation and maintenance of complex processing systems that drive production and manufacturing. Their expertise supports a wide range of industries, including petrochemical and refinery operations, pharmaceutical manufacturing, food and beverage production, water treatment facilities, and power generation plants.
With just four semesters of training, students can launch a high-demand career with a starting salary of approximately $50,000 per year and the potential to earn six figures as they gain experience and advance in the field.
“This is an exciting time for our region,” said Industrial Technology Division Chair Charles Stevenson. “As new industries move in and others expand, we’re committed to training a workforce ready to meet those needs—safely, skillfully, and successfully.”
The reinstatement of the Process Technology Program aligns with current workforce demands and regional industrial growth. With expanding partnerships and new developments across the area, the program is designed to provide students with practical, career-ready training that meets the evolving needs of local employers.
