The Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church downtown, along with several Christian friends from far and wide, came together to witness the installation of a powerful and dynamic Woman of God-Pastor Joyce Williams, and Dea. David Williams, Sr.
It was a beautiful Sunday for such a joyous occasion. The installation speaker was the former undershepherd of Greater Mt. Olive, Pastor D.J. Redden, Sr. And the musical guest was Pleasant Grove No.1 on Bailey Road, under the talented Dea. Marvin King.
The service guide was Elder M.L.J. King of the Traveler Rest Missionary Baptist Church. Sis. Gloria Henderson gave a beautiful and sweet welcome.
One of the grandchildren gave a very sweet occasion for the fellowship. Another grandchildren read a story dedicated to Pastor Williams. Pastor Eddie Fountain gave some encouraging words from the Madison Parish Missionary Baptist Church Association Sunday School Convention. Sis. Detra C. Griffin gave a very powerful introduction of Pastor Redden.
Pastor Redden gave the powerful Dr. Watts hymn " Father, I stretch my hands to thee" as he began to speak. Pastor Redden spoke from Exodus 14:13a on the words "Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD." Pastor Eddie King of the Traveler Rest family gave a mighty charge to Pastor Williams.
My pastor, Pastor Edward "B.B" Kline,Jr. encouraged Pastor Williams, stating that there's a new sheriff in town! Pastor Tommy Watson gave a powerful rendition of "I trust in God." Pastor Williams gave her words of thanks by doing one thing that she does best-sing as angels sing in Heaven above!
She got so overjoyed in her remarks, until she forgot to take her spiritual place in the church - the pastor's chair! Pastor Joyce Williams will follow my late, great God brother, Pastor Keary "Coach" Grayson. And I know without a shadow of a doubt that she'll do an outstanding job ( with the help of the good Lord!)
Pastor and Dea. Williams would like to thank Byron Thomas of Delhi for his video work in the fellowship, Richard "Rico" Kline for the Photography work, and Greater Mt. Olive's hospitality committee for a great dinner which was served.
Pastor Joyce Williams would also like to thank other dynamic Women of God ( Pastors Dorothy Singleton and Priscilla Williams) for the magnificent roles which they played at Greater Mt. Olive on this day ( Pastor Singleton set the house in order with a powerful devotion, while Pastor Williams dressed Pastor Joyce Williams in her pastor's robe!)
May the awesome Lord above continue to shine the light house from the New Jerusalem above on the path on Pastor and Dea. Williams! God bless!
