Timothy Holdiness, a Monroe native, has been named the new publisher and editor of The Madison Journal.
Holdiness previously served as publisher and editor of The Newton County Appeal in Union, Mississippi, and as a community reporter for The Daily News in Bogalusa, Louisiana.
Before entering journalism, Holdiness worked for more than a decade as a frontline health care worker across North Louisiana. His career shift began while attending Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, where he joined the staff of the student newspaper, The Current Sauce. That experience sparked a passion for writing and a new path forward.
“I found that I had a passion for writing, and journalism gave me a way to continue helping the community, just in a different way,” Holdiness said.
He said his goal as publisher and editor is to continue providing Madison Parish with reliable news the community can trust.
“I will be living in the parish and am looking forward to being part of the community,” he said.
Holdiness earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Northwestern State University and an Associate of Science from Bossier Parish Community College in Bossier City.
He was born and raised in Monroe and graduated from Ouachita Parish High School.
