More than fifteen graduates from Madison High School’s Class of 2024-25 have been accepted into Grambling State University as a result of recruitment efforts led by the Grambling University National Alumni Association’s Madison Alumni Chapter and regional representative Adrienne Fountain.
Throughout the school year, the local alumni chapter maintained a steady presence at Madison High, engaging with students and organizing opportunities for them to learn about Grambling. Fountain, who teaches English and Educator Rising, and special education teacher LaDasha Buchanan, both Grambling State alumni, coordinated a campus visit for a group of students that included sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
During the visit, students toured key parts of campus life including the admissions office, housing department, and digital library. Seniors on the tour received a $200 housing application waiver. Afterward, the group traveled to Monroe for a visit to Pecanland Mall.
Organizers said the recruitment initiative aimed to give students direct exposure to the university experience and encourage interest in higher education through firsthand interaction.
