Having the opportunity of watching my grandson play summer baseball has been something I have really enjoyed. To see his team, play and perform at the level they have accomplished is a reward of their dedication and hard work. Their game style work ethics during their practice sessions have prepared them to be one of the best little league teams I have ever seen.
They have been pushed by their coaches and parents to be better than their expectations. These young minds have accomplished this and their performance on and off the field are to be commended. The discipline required of them to be a part of this squad requires good morals, good work ethics, quick thinking, and common courtesy.
This has been good training for them as they approach their teen years and some of the most versatile times they will ever go through. They are going to become adults and if they will continue in this line of thinking they will become leaders of tomorrow.
So many times, we see people struggling in today’s world and the reason is they have either forgotten their childhood upbringing or they had a poor childhood upbringing. In some cases, and this includes today’s society, children must raise themselves due to lack of parental guidance and/or no leadership. But even in these scenarios these children will look to someone for their guidance whether it is a bad or good experience.
As our younger generation continues to grow up, we as adults need to continue to nurture them in the ways of our Lord. Let them see us with the high Christian morals we were taught, and they have learned as young children and allow them to grow up with people that care about them. We need to be responsible for our actions and not allow ourselves to forget who is watching and following us. Children of today are hungry for guidance and leadership. If we fail to do our jobs, then they are going to follow someone that will provide alternative methods. Let us not fail in our duties as grownups and parents. All of us need to show them Christian values in all that we do.
