The Madison Parish Sheriff's Office was called to S. Elm Street for a reported shooting around 2 a.m. January 2. Deputies arrived and found one black male lying in the street, per MPSO spokesperson Brandon Wiltcher. The victim was treated by EMS and transported to Madison Parish Hospital Emergency Room where he died upon arrival.
During the investigation, investigators were able to identify the suspect as 20-year-old Jacorien Williams. Investigators also found out that Williams is a dispatcher for the Tallulah Police Department. Williams was taken into custody and booked for second degree murder. Due to ongoing investigations, the victim's name is not being released.
