Funeral services for Ernest Williams, Jr. will be Monday, October 13, 2025, at the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Jena, La, at 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Clyde Grammon. Private burial will follow at a later time and will be at Forest Corner Cemetery in Forest, La.
Visitation will be Monday, October 13, 2025, from 11:00 until time of service AT 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2025, at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home.
Ernest was born on January 4, 1934, in Forest, La and passed from this life on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Camelot Leisure Living, in Ferriday, La.
He was a longtime resident of Tallulah, La where he served as a Wildlife Enforcement Agent (Game Warden) on the Tensas Refuge. Upon retirement he moved to the Breithaupt homestead on French Fork, Little River outside Jonesville, La.
He loved to garden, work on engines, and was honored to have served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Ernest was preceded in death by parents Ernest Sr. and Hazel Williams, his wife of 59 years, Nita Faye, son Rodger Dale, and sister Ethel Boothe.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Ronald Dean and wife, Lynn Williams of Denham Springs, La; sisters Etta Faye Endsley of Bloomburg, TX; Irma Jean Davis of Brazoria, TX; and Grace Baty of Brazoria, TX; Grandchildren, Melody Holloway, Christina Tina Fernandez, Theresa Parnell, Courtney Simmons, Brett Williams, Ryan Williams, and Madison Williams; 8 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
