An equipment failure at the Tallulah water plant left customers across the city without water pressure Friday and prompted a systemwide boil water advisory.
Magnolia Water reported that one of the plant’s two aerators failed Feb. 20, disrupting operations at the production site and causing low to no water pressure for all customers served by the Tallulah water system, WSID LA1065003. The outage affects the entire 71282 ZIP code.
Crews began repairs on the failed aerator as the outage continued.
Because of the pressure loss, the system was placed under a boil water advisory. Once water service is restored, customers are instructed to bring water to a rapid boil for three minutes before drinking, cooking or using it for consumption.
City officials said updates will be provided as work progresses.
