Delta Community Action Association, Inc. will accept applications Friday for the 2026 Heating Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for Madison Parish residents
Applications will be taken from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Tallulah Community Center, 800 N. Beech St., Tallulah
The program assists families and senior citizens with heating-related energy costs. Funds may be used for electricity, gas or propane
Officials said applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis with limited slots available per day
Applicants must be Madison Parish residents and must provide all required documentation at the time of application
Required documents include a government-issued photo ID for all household members age 18 and older, Social Security cards for all household members, and current utility bills
Applicants must report all earned and unearned income for everyone in the household, including pay stubs from the previous 30 days, most recent tax returns for self-employed individuals, and documentation of Social Security, unemployment insurance, retirement, pension funds, disability benefits or contributions
If the address on an applicant’s ID does not match the service address on the heating or cooling bill, additional proof of address dated within 30 days is required. Electric, gas or propane bills will not be accepted as proof of address
Lease agreements, rental agreements or mortgage statements must be current. Documentation is also required for any household member claiming disability status
Officials said incomplete applications will not be processed and all information is subject to verification. Intentional misrepresentation may result in criminal prosecution
