The Village of Delta approved the purchase of a new police radar unit and discussed ongoing efforts to acquire a fire truck during its regular board meeting Oct. 21 at City Hall.
Marshal David Beckham told the council that a bid has been submitted for a fire truck to serve the village. The board took no action but indicated continued interest in upgrading the department’s equipment.
Council members also voted to purchase a Stalker radar unit for the police department. Mayor Ruthann Vercher said the radar will assist in traffic enforcement along U.S. Highway 80 and within the village limits.
In other business, the board approved a $300 donation from the fire department to support the community’s Halloween event.
All motions passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 6:39 p.m.
