Teams from Delhi Charter School won the senior and freshman divisions at the NELA VEX Robotics Tournament on Saturday.
The senior team did not lose a match during the event. The freshman team lost one match, which came against the senior team during the qualifying rounds. The two teams later partnered to form the winning alliance in the elimination rounds and won the tournament championship.
The senior team also won the Robot Skills award for the highest single-robot score recorded at the event.
With the results, both teams qualified for the Louisiana State Championship, scheduled for Feb. 26–27 in Lake Charles.
The senior team, known as “The Vidreams,” includes Frederic Curlin, Logan Patty, Michael Ivy and Hunter Scarborough. The freshman team, known as “Lab Rats,” includes Khristian Washington, Lanaris Robinson, Nicholas Burgess and Kalvin Hardy.
