A routine traffic stop last week on Interstate 20 ended with a drug bust netting more than 1,000 suspected ecstasy pills.
According to Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped 25-year-old Dashawn McGruder, of Fort Worth, on I-20 Thurs., May 12, for speeding, when the odor of marijuana was noticed coming from the vehicle. Deputies searched the vehicle with McGruder’s consent and located a canister containing more the 1,000 suspected ecstasy pills, they said.

McGruder was taken into custody and booked into Madison Parish Jail. He faces charges of possession of a Schedule I narcotic with intent to distribute.
