A shooting involving three Tallulah residents Saturday on North Chestnut Street left one man dead, one injured and one facing murder charges.

According to Madison Parish Sheriff's Office (MPSO) officials, 41-year-old Richard Thompson surrendered himself to MPSO CID without incident just hours after the shooting.
Officials said a 911 call was placed Saturday reporting the shooting in the 300 block of North Chestnut Street.
"The investigation revealed that two men were in a black passenger car and were approached by a third Black male who walked up to the parked vehicle," MPSO said. "An argument ensued and the man identified as Thompson fired numerous rounds into the driver side of the car, striking both men."
Officials said both victims were transported by EMS to Madison Parish Hospital, where the driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased. The second victim reportedly suffered from a gunshot wound to the leg.
MPSO said the victims' names are not yet being released pending notification of family members.
The scene was secured by MPSO deputies and officers with Tallulah Police Department.
Thompson was booked into the Madison Parish Jail and charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of attempted second-degree murder.
