Law enforcement in Madison Parish are still on the hunt for a man that escaped custody Saturday morning in Tallulah.
Officials with the Madison Parish Sheriff's Office said 43-year-old Marquis Deronta Thomas was arrested early Saturday morning after a car wreck on Richmond's Frontage Road and taken into custody for existing warrants related to narcotics charges.

Following his arrest, MPSO said Thomas was taken to Madison Parish Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Upon his return to Madison Parish Jail, he is believed to have escaped through a doorway normally not accessible to inmates.
MPSO said an investigation into the details of how Thomas managed to access the doorway is currently underway.
While MPSO said they have no reason to believe Thomas to be a violent threat to the community, they are asking anyone with any knowledge of his whereabouts to call 911 or local law enforcement.
Officials said Thomas is a black male, approximately 6'1" to 6'2" inches tall and weighing approximately 185-to-190 pounds.
