One local man was injured and another jailed last week after a shooting in the 200 block of West Oughbourne Street in Tallulah.
According to officials with the Tallulah Police Department, Dexter Long Jr., a 25-year-old black male, was taken into custody after allegedly shooting 31-year-old Donald Dorsey during an altercation Tues. July 25, at approximately 6:50 p.m.
Officials said Dorsey was taken to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, where he was treated for his wounds. As of press time Tuesday, an updated condition for Dorsey was not available.
Long was taken into custody after turning himself in to Tallulah Police Department officers and has been charged with second degree attempted murder. He was booked into the Madison Parish Detention Center, where is being held without bond.
