The Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a correctional officer accused of attempting to bring narcotics and other contraband into the Madison Parish Correctional Center.
On Aug. 17, the sheriff’s office received a call from the correctional center reporting that corrections officer Omarion Bell was caught by staff attempting to sneak in synthetic marijuana, alprazolam, and packs of cigarettes.
According to the sheriff’s office, Bell attempted to bring the items in during roll call. Deputies took him into custody and transported him to the Madison Parish Jail.
Bell was booked on charges of introduction of narcotics and malfeasance in office.
