As we here in Madison Parish (as with the rest of the world) celebrate this holiday season of 2021, my mind reflects on the great people who’ve passed off the scene. From the best supervisor that I’ve ever had on any job, to another great man who worked with me at the same job. From one of the greatest athletes ever in Reuben McCall High School, to a dedicated and caring sister of my late powerful pastor at Bethlehem on 5th Street. From an outstanding principal in the Madison Parish school system, to another great brother who had the most colorful bicycle that I’ve ever seen!
From a dynamic gospel singer/choir sister at the East Star Baptist Church, to her dynamic husband, who was always ready to help someone along the way. From other great people of God (Morning Star of Tallabena) to an outstanding lawnman at the 1st Kingdom M.B. Church. From an awesome educator in the Madison Parish school system (the mother of two great sets of twins whom I grew up with), to one of the greatest doorkeepers with my neighbors (the New Morning Star Baptist Church). From the greatest post lady at our Tallulah USPS, to another kind sister who was the mother of some more of my greatest schoolmates growing up in Madison Parish. At this time, on behalf of the Madison Journal, I do say rest in peace and thank you for all of the good times and precious memories which you all have left in our hearts and souls!
And do continue to enjoy your afterlife in the New Jerusalem up above as you all are new doing your work for the higher calling.
