While many holiday events across the country have been canceled this year over COVID-19 concerns, a group of citizens in Tallulah found a way to celebrate Christmas in the community safely with this year's "Christmas on the Block" event.
Beginning Saturday at 10 a.m., vendors filled an outside venue on Snyder Street with arts and crafts, jewelry, food and more.
Along with collecting toy donations for local children in need, festival organizers provided a Christmas-themed environment for locals to display and sale a variety of items, all while festival-goers donned masked and maintained social distancing practices.
The festivities concluded Saturday afternoon with a Christmas parade, with Grand Marshals Kelvin and TaRayla Brooks leading the way.
