City of Tallulah
Fiscal 2026
On August 28, 2025, at a council meeting, 5:30 P.M., City Hall, Mayor Yvonne Lewis introduced the General Fund, fiscal 2026 budget in the amount of 3 million four hundred fifty- seven thousand dollars, ($3,457,000) for the coming fiscal year. It represents a very modest increase over the prior year's General Fund budget of 3.3 million dollars. Also to be approved by the City Council are the budgets for sewer funds as well as budgets for special revenue funds.
The City's General Fund comprises City Administration (Mayor's Office), Police Department, Fire Department, Street Department, and the Community Center along with Parks and Recreation. The City employs 66 full-time employees along with several part-time positions.
Fiscal year 2026 begins on July 1, 2025, and ends as of June 30, 2026. Currently, fiscal year 2026 has arrived as June 30, 2025, has ended.
City revenues appear to have stabilized, and at the current rate, the City should be able to operate efficiently and effectively throughout the coming fiscal year now that the water situation in the City is being maintained by a private contractor. Further repair and rehabilitation of the water system will continue during the present year prior to a final decision to be made regarding a permanent solution.
A detailed version of the City's budgets by department and line item is available for public viewing at City Hall between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday.
