Mr. Audrey Steve “Harold” Ogden, of Tallulah, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
Harold was born on November 25, 1929, in Texas to Steve Cordill Ogden and Lucille Craven Ogden. He graduated from Tallulah High School, where he proudly played football. After serving his country in the United States Marine Corps, Harold returned to Tallulah and married the love of his life, Bettie Jean Rodgers, in 1955. A dedicated small business owner and later director of Council on Aging, Harold was deeply committed to his community. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting all kinds of wildlife and was well known for his captivating stories and adventurous spirit. Loved by all who met him, Harold was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back. He wasn’t just “Paw” to his children and grandchildren—he was “Paw” to all that loved him.
Harold is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bettie Jean Ogden; parents, Steve and Lucille Ogden; brother, Freddie Tisdale; and son-in-law, Travis “Rooster” Russell.
He is survived by his children: Richard “Ricky” Ogden of Delhi, Louisiana, Kim Russell of Tallulah, Louisiana, Audrey Jean “AJ” Ogden of Austin, Arkansas; three granddaughters: Angela Russell, Leah Anthony and husband Brett, Mary Elizabeth Hale and husband Matt; three great-grandsons: Brandon Comans, Riser Richardson, and Lake Anthony; and four great-granddaughters: Kathryn “Blaire” Hale, Emery Hale, Finley Hale, and Avery Blake.
He is also survived by his sister, Evelyn Gates, and the late Glen Gates; Nephew, Mike Gates; as well as a host of other cherished family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Bo Holloway, Matt Hale, Brandon Comans, Tyler Ogden, Luke Fortenberry, and Kellum Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers are Eric Givens and Stanley Ogden.
Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah, Louisiana, with Bro. Mark Richardson officiating. Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery.
